Bockhart-Unterbaustollen, Goldbergbaurevier Siglitz-Bockhart, Siglitz-Bockhart-Gebiet, Gasteiner Tal, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Österreich
In the upper Bockhart valley, just north of the Siglitz valley, another group of ancient gold mines is located, which once worked quartz-carbonate veins with gold-bearing sulphides in the same geological environment as in the Siglitz valley. During the second world war (or, according to other sources, from 1912-1923, see link) the Bockhart adit ('Bockhart-Unterbaustollen'), was driven in the lower slope on the east side of the valley to extract the ore still present at greater depths. During the 1980s, both the adit and parts of the old workings were reopened for prospection works for a short period of time.
The coordinates are these of the Siglitzkar, in the vincinity of the locality.
