The Yangjiashan deposit is hosted in the Neoproterozoic Mobin and Jiangkou Formations of the Banxi Group. The Mobin Formation consists of slate, schist, and greywacke, while the Jiangkou Formation is made up of conglomerate-bearing slate and silty slate. Tungsten mineralization is mainly hosted in psammitic slate of the Mobin Formation. The mineralization is concentrated in the Jiudaocao and Dayi zones, with 18 NW-trending vein groups hosted in either monzogranite or slate, with some veins cutting through the contact zones between these rock types. The largest ore body is the No. 9 vein group, which dips steeply to the southwest (65–80°), extending over 2000 meters in length and 1.0–1.2 meters in width, continuing down-dip for 300 meters with an average WO3 grade of 0.20%.
