This is the first road cut of the Phase 2 extension of Autoroute 5 when heading north (road cuts further south are part of the Phase 1 extension). It is immediately north of the southbound Exit 24. Although it is on the west side of the highway, specimens also came from the rock removed to make the road itself. An interesting variety of minerals were found here.In theory, specimens may still be found here, but most material was transported away to be used in building the highway itself.

A large zone of dark green clinopyroxene and jet black coarse grained amphibole outcrop is exposed in a road cut just north of Cross Loop Road. Blasting temporarily exposed large (up to 40 cm), though unsightly, euhedral diopside crystals in orange calcite.

This locality was thought to be a skarn, which it is not. Thin slice analysis has shown the marble intrusions to be silico-carbonatites.
