Köppen climate type:
The ore-bearing strata of the Alin deposit are primarily grey quartz sandstone and dark grey mudstone of the Upper Triassic Maichuqing Formation, followed by purple-red sandstone and mudstone of the Huakaizuo Formation, and mudstone and purple-red sandstone of the Yangjiang Formation (J1y) of the Jurassic. The ore body is primarily found in the fracture zone, and most are vein-type and layered, striking nearly north–south and nearly parallel. These alterations primarily include bleaching alteration, barite, silicification, siderite mineralization, and pyrite mineralization.
Pulse1: ApyI1 and PyI1 exhibit cubic euhedral grain textures in quartz sandstone and argillaceous siltstone from the country rock.
Pulse 2: Secondary proliferative rim-core structures suggest formation during subsequent mineralization pulses in the orebodies. PyI1 was overgrown by subhedral ring-circle ApyI2.
Pulse 3: The Level III secondary proliferative rim-core structures indicate formation during mineralization pulse 3 in the orebodies.
Pulse 4: The Level IV secondary proliferative rim-core structures suggest formation during mineralization pulse 4 in the orebodies.
The mineralized breccia consists mainly of feldspar-quartz sandstone fragments and fault clay. The thickness of the orebodies ranges from 6 to 11.98 m, with a length of up to 130 m. The ore exhibits dense, massive, banded, impregnated, vein-like, networked, and breccia structures, with euhedral, subhedral, and anhedral grains as well as textures of replacement, dissolution, and cataclasis. The gold (Au) grade ranges from 0.26 to 36.35 g/t, with a maximum of 120.0 g/t and an average of 4.02 g/t.
