Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Fichtelschenke, Reichenau

Grahmann R., Ebert H. (1937) in 'Erläuterungen' Page 37:

"A rock that looks basalt-like on the outside stands out from the hornblende basalts and tephrites and forms a very small hill 80 m southwest of kilometer marker 13 on the Reichenau-Fichtelschenke road (today road 352 approx. 1.1km east from Bogatynia). According to its mineral composition, it is a haüyne -amphibole monchiquite; in terms of the formation and proportions of the components, it is very similar to a monchiquite variety described by Busz from the Rhön as heptorite. Since this name is not very well known, but very similar rocks from the Bohemian Central Mountains have been described by Hibsch as haüyne-porphyr (Bh), the latter name has been chosen here. The following occur as inclusions:
- hornblende (a pale brownish yellow, yellow-brown, olive tint, prism surfaces rounded by melting of the edges; 0.1 to 1 mm, length 0.3 to 2 mm),
- augite (very pale brownish green, sometimes with green cores; very pronounced zonal structure with very narrow, evenly changing zones; shape similar to hornblende, but edges sharper, size somewhat smaller),
- haüyne (hexagons or elongated rectangles, occasionally corrosion bays; 0.1 to 0.3 mm large; colorless with a broad violet-black border; sometimes encloses small augites),
- magnetite (sparser than the previous three, 0.1 to 0.3 mm large, corroded)
- apatite (only a few)
- brown glass with many augites
- magnetite (0.003 to 0.03 mm)
- feldspar (0.007 × 0.07 mm (sanidine?)
"

The volcanic body belong to the Central European Volcanic Province (CEVP).
