Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Dornhennersdorf
Strzegomice (German: Dornhennersdorf) – formerly a village, the area now belongs to the town of Bogatynia. In the 1980s, the inhabitants were relocated and the village was buried under the masses of overburden from the external dump of the Turów Brown Coal Mine.
Grahmann & Ebert H. (1937) in 'Erläuterungen' Page 86:
"Technically usable materials (H. Emrich) 3. Quartz.
The few occurrences marked on the geological map as “quartz veins” cannot be referred to as actual veins... The "vein" near Dornhennersdorf (Strzegomice) is a breccia zone about 10 m wide, filled with milky quartz, often only the size of a pea, embedded in a base mass of partially decomposed granite. It is therefore unlikely that the quartz can be used for technical purposes in any of these occurrences."
The point on the map corresponds to the bigger Rumburg granite quarry with quartz breccia in fault zone, mentioned above. The length of the entire zone with quartz reaches about 1.25 km and with 3 separated workings in the quartz zone. A site of historical significance only, covered with sediments from a nearby lignite mine.
