Köppen climate type:
Murong deposit does not have a granite mass at the center of the metamorphic zone, and there is no developed pegmatite vein group. There are only two spodumene pegmatite veins, among which No. Ⅰ is the main vein and No. Ⅱ is the subordinate vein. The shape of the ore body is relatively simple, mainly in the form of veins. The veins are thinner at the surface and gradually thicken toward the deeper sections. The average Li2O content can reach 1.62 % in the ore. From the edge of the vein to the center, the following zones can be identified in sequence: Zone Ⅰ − Felsic shell zone, with coarsening grain size toward the interior of the deposit, and zoned tourmaline can be observed in Zone Ⅰ. Zone II − Coarse-grained albite spodumene pegmatite zone (further subdivided into Zone IIa − oriented banded spodumene zone and Zone IIb − nondirectional spodumene zone). Spodumene has developed in Zone II, and zoned cassiterite can also be observed. Zone III is the felsic core zone , which occasionally features a quartz mass and diffuse structures.
The Murong deposit is located between the Rongxuka, Jiajika, and Waduo gneiss domes, approximately 10–16 km from each. The mining area exhibits a simple structural setting dominated by fractures and joints within a monoclinal structure, with bedding-parallel fractures often filled with granite-pegmatite magma. The local stratigraphy is dominated by the T3xd2, a weakly metamorphosed deep-sea silty mudstone that has transformed into slate-phyllite of low greenschist to amphibolite facies. Quaternary residual deposits (Q4) are also present, covering parts of the area. The primary orebody (No. I) in vein №1 is lenticular, approximately 800 m long, 35.20 m thick, and dips steeply at 77%, averaging 1.63% Li2O, 0.010% Nb2O5, and 0.005% Ta2O5.
Vein 1 has a length of 800 m and a maximum down-dip depth of 1080 m. The thickness of Vein 1 ranges from 1.12 m to 139.82 m, with an average thickness of 35.2 m. The dip direction of the orebody varies from 131° to 172°, with a dip angle ranging from 64° to 87°. The total estimated Li2O resources amount to approximately 1.045 million tons, with an average Li2O grade of 1.62%.
