Köppen climate type:
The orebodies at the Dess occurrence are represented by W–E and N–W trending sulfidized vein–disseminated zones among the beresitized and greisenized porphyraceous granitoid rocks of the Tynda–Bakaran and Tukuringra complexes. The younger dike and volcanic rocks of the Dzhelindakan complex are devoid of this mineralization and hydrothermal metasomatic alteration. In terms of morphology, the orebodies are subdivided into four types: (i) quartz veins with sulfides; (ii) linear zones of fine-veined, vein, and vein–network silicification with sulfides in zones of beresites; (iii) mineralized fracture zones with clay gouge, quartz clasts, and beresitized fragments of granites and gneisses; and (iv) volumetric zones of metasomatic and fine-veined silicification. The maximum gold (up to 10.4 g/t) and silver (5–50 g/t) contents were identified in quartz veins that occur as latitudinal band and lens shaped bodies 0.1to 2.5 m thick with flexures by strike and, probably, downdips.
