Köppen climate type:
In this area, hundreds of pegmatites are distributed along a 50-km distance within and at the margins of a granitic complex comprising granodiorite, two-mica monzogranite, and leucogranite. The granitic batholith shows increasing fractionation (Rb/Cs, Nb/Ta indicators) from the center to the borders of the batholith. Within the batholith, the pegmatites are mostly barren, having a simple mineralogical assemblage consisting of quartz, K-feldspar, albite, micas (commonly muscovite and rarely biotite), tourmaline, garnet, beryl, and apatite. Close to the batholith margin, along the Faleme River at the border with Mali, are lithium pegmatites.
Coordinates are general for the Faleme River.
