The Xintian River basin is Taiwan's earliest reported location for Anatase, and the paper was published in 1904 by Yohachiro Okamoto, The Journal of the Geological Society of Japan.
The small Anatase crystals (about 0.5 to 2mm) can be found in some igneous rocks on the river bed. However, the source of these igneous rocks has not yet been reached.
