A slag locality.
From the visitor center of the Mont Avic Natural Park in the Chevrère area of the municipality of Champdepraz, Aosta Valley, you take path 5b which leads directly to the ancient blast furnace, a massive masonry building, now ruined. At the casting surface it is possible to see the typical slag deriving from the processing of metal-rich rocks scattered in the ground. Here the iron ore coming from the Lac Gelé mine was processed, exploiting part of the waters of the Chalamy stream.
