An occurrence 12 to 13 miles SE of Mayer.
Manganese deposits occur about the brink of a bench which rises about 75 feet above the river. A thinbasalt flow overlies the travertone and clay beds containing the manganese deposits. The ore occurs in seams and irregular masses in clay and sandstone, associated with chert and travertine.
Workings include several open cuts and shallow holes to a maximum depth of 10 feet (3 meters).
