The Howardian Hills National Landscape is a gently rolling and deeply historic landscape in North Yorkshire, lying between the Vale of York and the North York Moors. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1989 and renamed a National Landscape in 2023, it is noted for its harmonious blend of limestone hills, wooded valleys, pasture, and farmland, as well as its concentration of historic villages, estates, and designed landscapes. The area has long been associated with art, literature, and landscape design, most famously through the influence of the Howard family and the creation of the surrounding parklands.

Geologically, the Howardian Hills are underlain mainly by Jurassic limestones, sandstones, and mudstones, forming a transitional zone between the lowlands of the Vale of York and the higher ground of the North York Moors. These rocks give rise to gently undulating hills, fertile soils, and distinctive dry valleys and escarpments.
