Located in the Suzak District of Kazakhstan within the Karatau Range, the Zholbarsty (No. 113) deposit is a gold-silver quartz-vein occurrence hosted in Riphean-aged granitoids of the Kumystinsky massif. The site is structurally controlled by the Main Karatau Fault, with mineralization concentrated in sub-latitudinal fractures and splay veins. The primary ore body, Quartz Vein No. 1, extends for 1,500 meters and is accompanied by wide halos of beresite alteration. The deposit is genetically linked to the nearby Kelenchiktau deposit, together forming a unified but relatively small-scale ore field.

The mineralogy is dominated by quartz-sulfide assemblages, where gold is typically submicroscopic (0.005–0.01 mm) and associated with pyrite, arsenopyrite, and chalcopyrite. A significant feature of the deposit is its 120-meter-deep supergene zone; while the upper 20 meters are leached and depleted, the underlying oxidation zone (20–120 m) shows dramatic secondary enrichment. In this zone, gold and silver concentrations can spike to 130 g/t as the gold undergoes natural coarsening. As of 2012, the deposit held combined C1+C2 reserves of approximately 1.9 tonnes of gold and 44.5 tonnes of silver.
