Strezhanskoe; Strezhnaya
The Strizhanskoye deposit, discovered in 1969, is a complex polymetallic occurrence located 30 km east-northeast of Ridder (Leninogorsk). It is situated within a highly folded structural setting on the southwestern flank of the Strezhanskaya anticline. The ore field is composed of Eifelian-Givetian volcano-sedimentary rocks (Uspenskaya suite) and Givetian-Frasnian sedimentary rocks (Beloubinskaya suite), which are intruded by dacite porphyries and younger andesite-diabase dikes.
The mineralization is localized within two parallel northwest-striking zones (North and South) that extend over 1,000 meters. These zones are steeply dipping and hosted within a tectonic block bounded by major faults. The ore formation occurred in two stages: a syngenetic stage (synchronous with sediment deposition) and a later epigenetic stage. About 15 ore bodies of various shapes—including sheets, lenses, ribbons, and "saddle-veins"—are found here. The ores are rich in zinc and copper, with average grades of 5.13% zinc, 1.88% copper, and 0.86% lead, along with significant silver (57.1 g/t) and trace elements like tellurium and cadmium.
