Hanyaozi Grassland Site is situated at the contact between the Gongpoquan Formation of the Late Silurian and the Early Devonian fine–grained quartz diorite. Additional Early Devonian granitoids, including fine- to medium-grained granodiorite and medium-coarse-grained syenogranite, are also exposed in the mining area and are in intrusive contact with the Gongpoquan Formation.
