Seman Beach, Albania is a coastal locality where heavy minerals become naturally concentrated through the reworking of sediments derived from ultrabasic, basic, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks in the surrounding region. Material carried by the Seman and Vjosa rivers is deposited near their mouths and then redistributed along the beach by wind and wave action. This process produces surface enrichments that appear as dark halos, patches, thin layers, and black streaks in the sand, forming a natural heavy-mineral concentrate.
