HaH 346
HaH 346 is a very fresh ordinary chondrite (L6, S5, W0) likely associated with a widely observed fireball on 26 August 2018 over the Jabal al Gharbi District, Libya. Hundreds of stones totaling over 100 kg were recovered in early 2019 about 95 km southwest of Ash Shuwayrif. The pristine matte black fusion crust and complete lack of weathering strongly support a recent fall.
HaH 346 consists of numerous blocky stones ranging from ~100 g to several kilograms, often displaying shallow regmaglypts and light gray interiors. Petrographically, HaH 346 is highly recrystallized, dominated by equilibrated olivine (Fa23.8) and low-Ca pyroxene (Fs20.2), with only sparse relict chondrules. Metal and troilite are evenly distributed throughout, and shock features include rare melt veins and strongly deformed sulfides.
