The exposed strata in the Chutuan fluorite deposit are relatively simple, consisting of Neoproterozoic–Paleoproterozoic plagioclase gneiss and monzonitic gneiss from the Donghai Complex, with minor amphibolite and Quaternary deposits. Three nearly EW–trending faults are developed at Chutuan, which are equally spaced, subparallel structural fracture zones or dense joint zones exhibiting tensional–shear characteristics. These structures serve as important ore–controlling features in the area. Magmatic activity within the Chutuan deposit is not prominently developed, with only minor occurrences of NW– and NE–trending eclogite dikes and granodiorite dikes observed.
Three fluorite and barite ore bodies (FL1–FL3) have been delineated in the Chutuan deposit, predominantly occurring as fluorite–barite–quartz veins. Among these, FL1 is the principal ore body, striking E–W, dipping southward with an inclination of 65–77°. It extends approximately 675 m along strike and 235 m down–dip, with an average thickness of 1.52 m. The CaF2 content is 34.9%–77.0%, averaging 52.44%.
