The orebodies are hosted in the contact-metamorphic zone between the Dongha intrusion and the Upper Permian Linghao Formation, and similarly consist of two layers. Orebody No. 1 (the lower layer) is situated along the contact between the intrusion and the wall rocks, with skarn in the hanging wall and the intrusion in the footwall. It strikes NW, dips NE at ∼30°, extends for ∼160 m along strike, and is 1.0–2.0 m thick. Orebody No. 2 (the upper layer) occurs along the boundary between the skarn zone and marbleized limestone, with garnet-poor diopside skarn in the footwall and marbleized limestone in the hanging wall. It is stratiform to stratabound, extends for >1100 m along strike and >200 m down dip, and has an average thickness of ∼8.4 m. At Dongha, a thin marble layer locally occurs against the intrusion. The zonation reflects the relative proportions of garnet and diopside. Both minerals occur in all zones, so the boundaries are gradational. A later retrograde assemblage overprints all zones. It comprises chlorite, epidote, actinolite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite.
