Köppen climate type:
The Tizkuh Formation is predominantly composed of limestone and dolomitic limestone, with systematic variations in bed thickness throughout the succession. The lower and upper parts are mainly characterized by thin- to medium-bedded limestones, whereas the middle part is dominated by medium- to thick-bedded limestones. The carbonate beds are generally light gray to creamy in color, regularly bedded, and laterally continuous at the outcrop scale. Chert occurs locally within the limestone succession as bands, lenses, and nodules, and its abundance varies in each individual bed.
