The total thickness of halite in this well is 600 to 800 m, which can reveal the genesis and evolution process of evaporite rocks in some extent. A total of 34 halite samples was collected from well EJ-2 in the Qianjiang Formation (Eq 2 Member) of the Late Eocene in the northern Qianjiang depression. The sample point is located about 27 km northwest of Qianjiang City at 30.4040°N, 112.8940°E. The lithology of the Eq 2 Member is mainly composed of siltstone, silty mudstone, anhydrite, glauberite and halite.
