The Havieron deposit is located 480 km east-southeast of Port Hedland in the Great Sandy Desert of Western Australia. The deposit is composed of a complex breccia with a varied sulfide and metal budget. As of December 2023, more than 300 km of drilling has defined a combined inferred and indicated mineral resource of 7.0 Moz Au and 275 kt Cu in 131 Mt at average grades of 1.67 g/t Au and 0.21% Cu. The breccia footprint at Havieron forms an ovoid body in plan view that is 800 × 500 m, elongated in a northwesterly direction, and has a vertical extent of 1,200 m beneath the unconformity . The highest metal grade is associated with the sulfide-rich Crescent zone, which consists of multiple, subvertical, coalescing, sulfide-rich breccia columns concentrated around the southeastern margin of the overall complex, thereby giving the zone an arcuate shape in plan view. The Crescent zone averages 20 to 30 m in width, is thickest in the apex of the arcuate zone (up to 50 m), and narrows to <5 m on the limbs. The top of the Crescent zone is up to 550 m long and narrows down to 200 to 300 m with an upward-flaring geometry. At a depth of ~1 km beneath the unconformity, the sulfide-rich Crescent zone narrows at the contact with the lower massive sandstone sequence, although breccia continues through that unit to greater depths.
