Köppen climate type:
The predominant rock types in Gabal Shilman area comprise ophiolitic rocks, which are overlain by arc metavolcanic–metasedimentary succession and later intruded by granodiorite. The ophiolite assemblage of G. Shilman belongs to the northwestern segment of the Allaqi-Heiani ophiolite belt. The ophiolitic rocks comprise serpentinites, talc-carbonates, metagabbros and amphibolites. The serpentinite mass forms thrust nap on large body of metagabbro. The small serpentinite masses are intruded by granodiorite, and are in close association with marble and listvenite.
