The orebodies occur mainly along granitoid-metamorphic rock contacts and are closely associated with calc-silicate rocks and hydrothermal alteration. The principal ore minerals are sphalerite and magnetite, with subordinate pyrite, chalcopyrite, and galena, whereas garnet, epidote, quartz, calcite, and chlorite are common associated minerals. These geological and mineralogical features indicate a close association with hydrothermal alteration and contact-related mineralization at Heliao.
