Glengonner shaft started sinking in 1903 by the Leadhills company. And has been sunk verticaly to 100Fms (183mts),then follows the westerly underly (70 deg) of Brow vein for a further 149 Fms (273 mts). Browns vein was worked by crosscuts from the shaft, and from Wilson shaft on Browns vein to the north. East Stayvoyage and Stay the Voyage veins were also proved in Muirs crosscut from Glengonner shaft, at Gripps Level. There may also have been some development of Hopefull vein to a 60 fathom level.
