Huge, abandoned feldspar and quartz quarry in a pegmatite measuring more than 1 km in length.
The pegmatite consists mainly of what in Norway is called "tint", a very coarse grained mix of feldspar, quartz and other minerals. The composition of the pegmatite is 40% albite, 30% microcline, 27.5% quartz and 2-3% iron-containing minerals.

In 1968 a flotation plant was taken into use, which separated the minerals.
The quarry was closed in 2011, after having been operated by Sibelco Nordic during the last couple of years.

The coordinates are for a spot in the middle of the quarry, or rather a group of quarries.
