Uranium mine.
The exploration of uranium in Portugal began in 1907. Dating back to 1912 Rosmaneira was the first concession (mining concession no. 488 registered on 03-09-1909) in the Sabugal municipality.
It was exploited for radium production between 1909 and 1914, through the exploration of two galleries on the hillside. In addition, small mineralized areas were also exploited through open-pit mining (trenches). The Rosmaneira mine is located near a small village called Quinta de Santo António, which is part of the Bendada parish.
