Grube Königswart (Grube Johann-Friedrich), Schönegründ, Baiersbronn, Freudenstadt, Regierungsbezirk Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland

The Königswart mine (also known as the "Johann Friedrich Fundgrube" in German) is a former mine in Schönegründ (municipality of Baiersbronn) in the northern Black Forest. The mine is located below the Königswart ruins. Located about 700 m NNW of Schönegründ and about 9 km north of Baiersbronn.

The first documented mention is in 1488, when Margrave Christoph von Baden granted mining rights to Schwaz and Vipiteno. However, it is likely that the mine is much older. From 1595 the mine belonged to Württemberg.

The mine was abandoned in 1826. Old overgrown dumps still remain, in which it is still relatively easy to find the common minerals.

Cu-Ag-Bi mineralized veins in sandstone. Mainly silver-containing ores were mined. Together with Neubulach and Christophstal (Freudenstadt), it was the most important silver mining site in Württemberg. All three deposits mainly contain fahlores. The ores also contained iron, which was smelted in the hammermills and blast furnaces of Christophstal.
