Green Mountain is a common name for "The Peak", the highest point on Ascension Island, which has gained some fame for claims that it is one of very few large-scale artificial forests.
Ejected blocks of plutonic igneous facies in the trachytic and basaltic tuffs of Green Mountain.
Dalyite, as colourless, completely transparent, triclinic crystals with short prismatic habit and vitreous lustre, occurs as a rare accessory in medium-grained pinkish-grey alkali-granites mainly composed of microperthitic feldspar and quartz associated in varying proportions with aegirine and a strongly pleochroic green-brown alkali-amphibole.
