In the jadeite-gneiss the garnets are almandine (54–65%), pyrope (16–26%), grossular (15–22%) and spessartine (2–3%) solid solutions and display a continuous and prograde zoning with slightly increasing pyrope and grossular, and decreasing almandine component from core to rim.(Miller et al. 2007)
ⓘ 'Amphibole Supergroup'

Description: In the kyanite-eclogites, garnets occurs as characteristic euhedral pink garnets of 1–3 mm in diameter in an omphacite/zoisite groundmass Garnets in mica schist layers are partly euhedral with grain sizes of 0.4–3 mm and in carbonate-rich layers, they have dimensions of up to 10 mm and skeletal growth is widespread. A post-tectonic crystallization is indicated for these garnet types, whereas syn-post-tectonic growth is suggested from textures of more euhedral garnets. Inclusions in the garnets from the mica schist are dominantly epidote and white mica and in skeletal garnets, quartz, calcite, dolomite and white mica The garnets in the jadeite gneiss are almandine (54–65%), pyrope (16–26%), grossular (15–22%) and spessartine (2–3%) solid solutions and display a continuous and prograde zoning with slightly increasing pyrope and grossular, and decreasing almandine component from core to rim.
