The Floyd Hill beryl deposit is in sec. 12, T4S, R72W, close to the N side of I-70 (old U.S. highway 40), at the E foot of Floyd Hill and a few hundred feet west of the Clear Creek-Jefferson County line, about 1 mi east of the junction with I-70. The allanite locality is in the SE¼ sec. 34, T3S, R72W, on U.S. highway 6.

Mineralization is hosted in coarse granite
