Lunar Crater is the main crater in the Lunar Crater volcanic field.

The volcanic field forms a north-northeast trending belt, about 80 km long
and 15–20 km wide, along two mountain ranges (Reveille Range and Pancake Range). The field is composed of >100 basaltic volcanic centers with ages spanning the Pliocene and Pleistocene (Foland and Bergman 1992); lava from the most recent eruption has been dated at 38±10 ka.
