This unusual suite of minerals occurs in Quincy granite (Mississippian or Devonian hypersolvus alkali granite) exposed in a road cut on Route 114, 200 yards (ca. 183 m) west of its junction with Route 121.

Note on the mineral list: Much of the danalite first reported from the locality is genthelvite (Miller and Cares, 1986). Danalite is the Fe end-member, and genthelvite is the Zn end-member of the danalite-genthelvite series. It is probably best to label specimens that have not been chemically analyzed as danalite-genthelvite series.
