A former underground Cu-Pb-Au-Ag mine located in the center of N (N½) sec. 33, T3S, R14E (Sonora 7.5 minute topo map), about 1¼ miles SW of Tiger Mountain, on BLM-administered land. Located and named on quadrangle topo map. Possibly the Pratt tunnel is an adit shown 1/3 mile NE of the mine. Produced 1915-1950. Operated by the Universal Copper Co. (1957).
Mineralization is hosted in Mescal Limestone and Troy Quartzite. Ore control was fissues and veins near a rhyodacite dike. Area structures include a E-W-trending rhyodacite dike with complex local faulting, with the nearest fault having a N-S orientaton, cut by the dike. An associated rock unit is dacite.
Workings include an inclined shaft of 45 degrees with three levels (1923); 400 feet deep in 1916. A connection was made to the Pratt tunnel; tunnel is 2200 feet long. Production figures were included under the Troy Mine in ABGMT-USBM file data. This mine did not pay expenses and closed quickly sometime before 1920. Universal Copper Co. worked on the Pratt tunnel and the Alice in 1957.
