Van Epps Prospect; Harrison Prospect; King Solomon Mine

The Snook and Ellen Prospect was located by Van Epps Pass near the head of Solomon Creek. The ore occurs in shear zone along contact between altered serpentine and diorite. It was developed by two adits and an open cut.

Note: Bart Cannon in Minerals of Washington lists the Chelan County gudmundite as being from the Van Epps Mine. It was not, it actually came from the Snook and Ellen, around 2 miles away. He was trying to obscure the real location.

Note: Huntting (1956) lists this locality twice, once in Chelan Co. and once in Kittitas Co.
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc

Deposit: Quartz vein at diorite-serpentine contact. Deposit is possibly a magmatic sulfide containing Ni that has been overprinted by polymetallic veins see also mrds records d001618, d001616, d001612

Deposit type: Polymetallic veins

Geology: Ingalls tectonic complex is an accreted ophiolite terrane

Rock formation(s): Mount Stuart Batholith;Ingalls Tectonic Complex
