This ancient mining area was operated from the late 15th century until 1921. Ores produced where lead, silver, and zinc, which were processed at Biberwier until the late 19th century. Also, manganese ore was mined from manganese oxide lenses in Jurassic limestones.

Located on the northeast slope of the Silberleithe.

A 5-7 km long tourist mining trail can be walked.
