Mineralization is tyuyamunite and metahewettite with clay in pods hosted in Late Cretaceous sandstone. The ore body is 0.46 meter (1.5 feet) wide and 137.16 meters (about 450 feet) long and is oriented along a bend in a paleochannel. Carnotite or tyuyamunite coating grains in bands following cross-bedding in light-gray, quartzose, fine- to coarse-grained sandstone interbedded between carbonaceous siltstones. Just below the middle member of the Toreva Formation. Local rocks include Sedimentary rocks of the Late Cretaceous Mesaverde Group.
