An ancient tin mine, that worked several lodes in a large tract of land between Lanyon farm and Mulfra hill, west to north of Boskednan. There still are many shafts, ruined mine buildings and quite extensive dumps left on the south and south-east slopes of Nine Maidens Cairn.
The grid reference marks the site of Croft Reeve Shaft, in the center of the sett, where some of the mine facilities were located, including the stamps and two engine houses. Today, this area is marked by a large overgrown burrow adjacent to the dirt track road leading from Boskednan to Bosiliack.
