A former placer Au mine located in sec. 30, T22N, R4E, MDM, 5.1 km (3.2 miles) ESE of Paradise, along the West Branch Feather River. Operated by the Feather River Land and Mining Co., Los Angeles, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The AU occurs in a lava-capped channel. Volcanic rocks extend southeastward from the NE¼ sec. 30. The Au placer is in the SE¼NE¼ sec. 30. No volcanic rocks in the SE¼ sec. 19. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
