A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼NE¼ and in the NE¼NW¼ sec. 26, T23N, R6E, MDM, 7.5 km (4.7 miles) NNE of Merrimac and 3.7 km (2.3 miles) SSE of Grizzly Summit (Plumas County), along the Little North Fork Feather River, SE of Toland Ridge (1.8 miles SE of Duffy Dome), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
MRDS NOTES: UTM estimated. PLS and GIS were used to determine lat/long. The reference says Butte County, but the PLS is in Plumas County. There are workings in the area shown on the Soaphill 7.5 topo map, so I believe the PLS is correct and the county incorrect. I have changed the county for this record (??).
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body strikes NNE and dips 90. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of pits.
