A former Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 31, T26S, R32E, MDM, 2.5 km (1.5 miles) S of Woodward Peak (coordinates of record), on private (patented) land within a National Forest area. The property comprises 20 acres. Owned by George King, Isabella, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in slate and granite. The ore body strikes NE and dips 60SE at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The vein is 3 feet (0.91 meter) thick. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is granite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shaft, 700 feet of drifts and a 230 foot long crosscut.
A little high-grade ore was found.
