Atud deposit
A gold property. Mesozonal gold deposit.
The Atud gold mine area represents the most important intrusion–related gold–sulfide deposits in the Eastern Desert of Egypt since Pharaonic times, as it hosts significant concentrations of gold (∼25.7 g/t on average). There are three generations of quartz veins in the studied areas: the N–S and NW–SE mineralized ferruginous quartz veins (50 cm in width, 4 m) and smoky quartz vein with a significant amount of gold in the Atud gold mine; and the non–mineralized milky white quartz vein. In addition, quartz–carbonate veins in the Atud area were found.
