Kodamaite from
Aris Quarries, Aris, Windhoek Rural, Khomas Region, Namibia

Locality type:Quarry
Classification
Species:Kodamaite
Formula:Na3(Ca5Na)Si16O36(OH)4F2 · (14-x)H2O
Comments:Blaß et al. (2021, p. 15) specifies that the "fluorhaltiger ellingsenit" reported by him in 2020, might well be the recently described kodamaite. The fluor-rich "ellingsenite" in question had 15%F, 11% Na, 58% Si and 17% Ca.
The PXRD of this material differs from that of ellingsenite, but shows to be very close to the PXRD of kodamaite. FYI: it is impossible to distinguish visually between ellingsite and this supposedly kodamaite.
Since the article has this mineral as "Kodamait (?)", the question mark has been kept on Mindat.
