Name:
Named in 1878 by Matthew Forster Heddle in honor of Lars Johan Igelstrom [February 10, 1822 Färnebo, Värmland, Sweden - May 15, 1897 Sunnemo, Värmland, Sweden], Swedish mineralogist with Swedish Geological Survey and a mineral dealer.

NOTE: The same name was used by M. Weibull (1883) for "m>Knebelite" (A variety of Fayalite-Tephroite Series)from Väster - Silvberg, Ludvika, Dalarna, Sweden
