Synonym:
A synonym of Selenium-bearing Kobellite
First described as a selenian kobellite and given the name selenokobellite by Ödman (1941). It was found in a quartz-tourmaline vein in the Boliden Mine, Sweden.

According to Jonsson (1993), microprobe analysis of material from Boliden labelled "selenokobellite", showed it to be a mixture of kobellite and laitakarite.

Mumme et al. (2013), in a study on the crystal structure, using a crystal fragment from the original material described by Ödman (1941), found that it is best described as a Se-bearing kobellite.
