Named in honor of the Simeon Jančev (b. 1942), mineralogist and professor, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Saints Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia.
The V-dominant analogue of parkinsonite. Chemically related to erikjonssonite, hereroite, kombatite, and vanadinite.
