
Feng Yun 4M-1 [National Satellite Meteorological Center]
China's geostationary meteorological satellite program FY-4M-1 (Feng Yun 4M-1) is a prototype of an FY-4 satellite equipped with a microwave sounder for atmospheric temperature and humidity, and inferred precipitation rate.
FY-4 is a three-axis-stabilized spacecraft. The satellite is equipped with millimeter-wave and submillimeter-wave detectors, which can achieve high-frequency three-dimensional detection of atmospheric temperature and humidity elements all day, all weather, and over a large range, further improving the capabilities of high-precision weather analysis and forecasting, short-term climate forecasting, and disaster monitoring and early warning, and will achieve a new leap in the field of world meteorological detection.
