a kingfisher wild in flight
he could only have made for joy.
He came down the river, splashing
against the water’s dimming face
like a skipped rock, passing
on down out of sight. And still
I could hear the splashes
farther and farther away
as it grew darker. He came back
the same way, dusky as his shadow,
sudden beyond the willows.
The splashes went on out of hearing.
It was dark then. Somewhere
the night had accommodated him
—at the place he was headed for
or where, led by his delight,
he came.

I know, I am still not over them! I actually just wanted to see if I could build Gallifreyan in Adobe Illustrator, and voila!
Of course this is from The Reality War finale, 15 tells 13 he loves her - something no one has ever said to her - and her repressed self realises she loves Yaz, but she won't remember this conversation to tell her... *ack*

Wartime Welsh Cakes

I made wartime Welsh cakes -- made with lard instead of butter and substituting grated carrot for the reduced quantity of fat!
More successful this time than the last time I tried them, I think, because I didn't cook them for so long and they weren't so dry. (I pre-heated the frying pan while cutting out the scones, which may have helped.)
holy it's almost been one year of dreamwidth? ... well, 9 months

oh well, i'm here now and genuinely just happy to have this place and have met some cool people thru it ... but having a place where i can write and so easily control who and what can be seen has done wonders to my brain to ingrain this as a place that i like returning to

i finally got one of those embedded guestbooks made from javascript to work on my little site, i've been wanting one for a long while (cause last time i did it was when i first began my actual main site, and it wouldn't let me do it as a non-supporter)
now that i have supporter i thought it'd be nice to actually do a proper guestbook this time (and i got in bechnokid's calendar, but i cannot be assed to do css prettying up right now)
(also that's my bongo cat bahaha, i got a halloween outfit for now)

Oct. 24th, 2026 06:33 pmautobotscoutriellaI have voted, fixed my car headlights, fixed my car windshield wipers, went to the Mandatory Work Fun Barbecue, scraped the side of my car on a post at the Mandatory Work Fun Barbecue, did an absurd amount of dishes, went to a birthday party, handled a bunch of work stuff on my phone at the birthday party, and changed the litter boxes, not in any particular order. I think I am Done With This Weekend now.
Even a pumpkin spice latte is not switching my brain back on :( I have Fic or Treat fics to write! I have ideas! They just Will Not Go, so instead I'm working on Angels and Demons again and trying to get the brain to work.
