Brief dream thought
Apr. 9th, 2023 12:24 pmThere was a question of the day in a server that had me talking about dreams, and a few I wanted to share and tried going through some of my journal archives to find it. But, turns out I only had one entry tagged in my Dreams tag. So I did a little search to find more of those dream entries and I noticed something I hadn't much realized before...
Between the public entries I have and a private dream journal that I remembered to document and the things I remember but didn't document.... I have a LOT of dreams with eye trauma. I would have thought maybe 2 in my lifetime if you had asked me before, but no it looks like a lot more than that and I have... never noticed this before. And it ranges from extremely horrific to like the kind of horror that's awful but the response is passive and cartoonish.
Looking up 'Dream Meanings' out of general personal amusement and it's really funny because so many are like... are afraid to suggest that anything is bad about it.
Like you have these things that are like 'loosing an eye in dreams is about wealth and prosperity and togetherness! but maybe spiritual conflict'

In this it is a bad omen

This one has some interesting takes but then it kind goes into romantic relationship slanted things and please, not everything is about romance.

anywho, ultimately it's all 'meaningless'. Like yes it has meaning in a 'what your brain decides to spit out at you might be related to latent personal issues' way but not in a spiritualistic omen sort of way.
At least not to me.
Does this have any correlation to the fact that I have a primary lead character with an extremely prominent, unavoidable eye-trauma injury that she refuses to even attempt to heal up in any way? I genuinely have no idea. It wasn't really a conscious decision, it was just one that felt like it should be there. I wasn't even consistent on the side it was on in the beginning because I got my left and right mixed up. I don't even have a problem with my own eyes, I don't even wear glasses. but man... IDK Weird that I didn't notice there was even a pattern until now.
